µBee Drone Kit Safety and Responsibility
Overview
Flying your µBee drone is fun and rewarding, but like any flying machine, it must be operated responsibly. Please read and follow these guidelines before operating your drone.
Recommended for users 14 years or older. Younger users should assemble or operate the drone only under adult supervision.
WARNING: Spinning propellers can cause injury. Never place fingers, hands, or objects near the propellers while the drone is powered. Operate only in open areas away from people and animals. Not a toy.
Important Safety Information

- You are responsible for operating the drone safely.
- You assume all risks associated with assembling, operating, and flying this drone.

Assembly Responsibility
This kit requires user assembly. Improper assembly may cause loss of control, crashes, or equipment damage. Users are responsible for ensuring the drone is assembled safely. Modifications to hardware or software are performed at the user's own risk and may affect safety and reliability.
Safe Flying Practices
- Fly in open areas. Operate the drone in a large space away from people, pets, fragile objects, buildings, roads, and power lines. Do not operate in confined spaces.
-
Keep clear of propellers. Propellers spin at high speeds and can cause cuts or injury. Always keep the drone several feet away from your face or body during flight. Disconnect power from both the drone and the remote control before working on either.
- Maintain line of sight. Always keep the drone within visual line of sight while flying.
- Avoid flying over people. Never fly directly above people or crowds.
- Start slowly. If you are new to drones, you should practice short hover flights, stay low to the ground (1-2 meters), and get comfortable with the drone before flying higher or using more advanced maneuvers.
- Inspect before flying. Before each flight, check that propellers are secure and undamaged, the battery is properly connected, and that the frame and motors are secure. If anything is damaged, do not fly until repaired.
Follow Local Laws and Regulations
Drone operation is regulated in many countries.
In the United States, recreational pilots must follow the rules of the Federal Aviation Administration. Regulations may include (but are not limited to):
- Flying below 400ft (120m).
- Keeping the drone within visual line of sight.
- Avoiding airports and controlled airspace.
The µBee Drone Kit uses a 915MHz radio. Be sure you can legally operate on this frequency in your area.
Operators are responsible for understanding and complying with all local regulations in their area.
Battery Safety
Lithium batteries can be hazardous if mishandled. Always:
- Use the correct charger.
- Do not puncture or damage the battery.
- Do not leave charging batteries unattended.
- Stop using a battery if it becomes swollen or damaged.
